Good news for farmers—now you can also earn money using drones. Many farmers might not be aware, but drones can offer a significant income opportunity. Yes, drones can help you make extra money. The Indian government is promoting the use of drones, and you can become a “Drone Bhaiya” or “Drone Didi” to earn from this technology.
The government is actively encouraging the use of drones in agriculture through various schemes. Drones are not only a boon for farmers and their fields but also a great opportunity for the youth to become self-reliant and earn income. Dr. Dayashankar Srivastava, in charge and scientist at the Agricultural Science Center-2, Sitapur, explains that agricultural drones are proving to be a helpful technology for farmers. They address the issues faced in manual spraying, such as the difficulty of training everyone who handles spraying and the lack of proper spraying techniques among many farmers.
Drones save time, money, and effort for farmers, and the use of machinery reduces the chances of errors. This technology improves both the yield and quality of crops. With drones, you can spray an acre of field in just 8 minutes and save water as well. Previously, 200 liters of water were needed, but now just 10 liters can cover an acre. In terms of cost, spraying an acre costs just 300 rupees.
If you want to venture into this field, you can start a custom hiring center for drones and make farmers aware that they can get spraying services from you. For example, if you spray 10 acres, you can earn 300 rupees per acre.
Regarding monthly income, you can earn between 80,000 to 90,000 rupees, and even with half that amount, you can comfortably make around 40,000 rupees. Dr. Srivastava notes that the current use of technology in agriculture is essential, as it reduces the time, money, and labor costs associated with farming. Agricultural drones are introduced to cut down on these costs and errors, providing a valuable income opportunity for both the youth and farmers. This technology minimizes errors that often occur with manual methods, and the Indian government’s drone scheme is a blessing for all involved, offering a new avenue for income.
